Every vehicle built since the mid-90s is equipped with an On-Board Diagnostics System that monitors engine performance. Once the “service engine” or “check engine” light is displayed, your next step should be to seek out an engine diagnostic service. In most cases, your vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostic System will detect an engine issue and store the corresponding repair code, which can be accessed by our technicians. And be thankful for your warning lights—they generally alert you to minor issues before they become major repairs.
Vehicle parts naturally wear out over time, and road hazards can negatively impact critical components. By adhering to the preventive maintenance schedule in your vehicle owner’s manual, you will help ensure your vehicle always runs at optimal conditions. Depending on your vehicle’s factory scheduled maintenance interval mileage, our mechanics may inspect the function of your steering and suspension components, fluid filters, belts and hoses, brakes and axles, and more to help your vehicle function efficiently.
Discrepancies in engine drivability and performance levels are reported through your vehicle’s computer system, with the most common diagnostic trouble codes generated in response to malfunctions in the powertrain. Ultimately, regular engine tune-ups are necessary to optimize engine performance, and prevent unnecessary engine trouble. To improve engine drivability, we may replace the spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, and distributor cap and rotor in your vehicle.
An auto cooling system consists of a cooling fan, water pump, thermostat, radiator, heater core, heater valve, and various other parts that work together to remove heat from a vehicle’s engine to prevent overheating. Antifreeze is the fluid that flows through all these components to reduce engine temperature. During a cooling system flush and fill, we will drain the antifreeze from your radiator, flush the cooling system, and fill the radiator with new antifreeze. Our goal is to help you avoid radiator replacement or another major repair.
Your vehicle’s A/C system is responsible for cooling, purifying, and circulating air, which it does through a complex system of components, including a condenser, compressor, drive belt, and evaporator. Like most aspects of car maintenance, treating a problem with your vehicle’s air conditioning system early, when only one of these components is worn, can prevent the need for a more expensive repair down the road. At Advanced Automotive, we handle all types of A/C service, from a simple recharge to diagnostics and air conditioning repair.
At Advanced Automotive, we’re experts in all phases of brake service and repair, including brake rotor replacement, front disc brake repair, parking brake adjustment, rear disc brake repair, rear drum brake repair, and anything else your braking system requires. Although brake systems vary from vehicle to vehicle, the responsibility and importance of the components remains the same. From brake pedal to brake fluid to brake pads, calipers, lines, and hoses, let us make sure you’re ready to stop when you need to with comprehensive service.
